Beautiful heart live in a ugly body

"Starchild" is a title that makes us think about good things and especially in something about wishes. (Due to the universal feature of shooting stars) However, the text tells the story of a child who fell from heaven, but without being an angel. Oscar Wilde was an opponent of the bourgeoisie, famous for his delicadesa in his artistic demonstrations and for being homosexual. This story is not absent from those characteristics.

The story plays with the concept of true beauty, but we ask to ourselves if this was inside, outside or in the same essence. The star child is picked up by some woodcutters, subsequently, he is welcome in a family, and they took care of him as if he was their own child. He was the most beautiful boy in the town, but sadly, it was just in physical terms, because by inside he was impolite and hurtful with other people. It is true that the star child amazed everyone with his beauty, but it was alone outside, because inside it was a horrible person. Meanwhile the text progresses, Wilde makes the contrast between characters without external beauty but with a great inner beauty. This is the case of the boy's mother, which is rejected by him after seeing his hideous appearance. He made lots of mistakes, that’s why he was punished and became a horrible child; the ugliest of the people. Precisely, in this point is when Wild plays with the concept of true beauty, making the external beauty fade away to not supplemented with inner beauty.

It was nothing less than the queen of the kingdom and his father was a leper who before had been helped by the same boy. The end of the story ended in a happy way and everything was resolved, leaving a valuable lesson; true beauty is what is inside, the outside disappears if the inside is not. 

After analyzing the story '' The Star Child'' and combine it with the characteristics of Oscar Wilde, we realized that it wanted to convey their delicate essence through the cruel events that happened to the protagonist.
